The Sinchon Youth Culture Basecamp building is situated inside a triangle shaped park. The building is to be rented as office spaces for start-up assistance firms that provide supports to youth in their 20s. A young architecture firm, SoA, designed the building in an attractive way such that many people can gather together. VS-A brings a somewhat decorative screen façade design and engineering into the project.

We initially proposed to use rough stones, which philosophically symbolizes the youth, as decorative materials. However, due to cost and construction limitations, eventually it is designed with dangling oval-shaped aluminum panels.

262 vertical steel pipes with a total length of 4,660 meters were installed on the 820 square meters wall surface. Above the vertical steel pipes, a total of 7,892 aluminum panels were attached. Although the panels are three-dimensional, they are engineered to be bendable only once and easily securable on the pipes. By utilizing the scripting method, the deployment and location of all parts were automatically printed on design drawings with exact dimensions.
