The 180 x 180 x 30m high volume is a fully glazed unitized curtain-wall with external protruded vertical fins.

In the design stage, the dimensions and surface characteristics of the fins were set by combining different parameters such a day-light factor, view, solar protection and wind loads. The original design selected glazed stoneware and GFRC are possible materials for the fins. We studied micro-ribs to texture their surfaces and achieve the best performances for each façade orientation. The curtain-wall units were designed so that the fins could be fixed on it, and stabilized, without having fixing points that cross the façade, as that is a well-known potential source for water-infiltration.

We were involved on all the facades and claddings of this project during Design stage.
